Chai Pear Crumble

Croustade
2 cups Fun Oats! Pear & Chai mix
¾ cup whole wheat flour
¼ cup brown sugar
½ tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
¼ cup maple syrup
5 tbsp. vegetable margarine

Pears
4 ripe pears (or 2 cups), diced
4 tbsp. maple syrup

pinch of: cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, allspice, cloves
ground
2 tsp. cornstarch

Steps

Mix first 5 ingredients together. Add maple syrup and vegetable margarine (cold), then loosen with a fork (or your hands) until everything is well blended. Pour 2/3 of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared tin. Crush with the back of a fork. Pour the pears over the top and level off. Sprinkle the rest of the croustade on top crumble between your fingers and bake for 27 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
